Just revisiting some old Soilwork albums as I’ve had the new one on, and this album is incredible. It’s textbook melodic death metal, “spirits of the future sun” is absolutely epic.

It's textbook melodic death metal on adrenaline. This album riffs harder than anything in flames or dark tranquility ever did, and the solos were just miles beyond their peers at the time. Regarding musicianship these guys were on a whole different level. I think Darkane was one of the only other MDM bands from the Swedish scene that could compete.
