Are you kidding me? Croakies and boatshoes is fucking amazing.

Roboturner and Backwards motion are both fucking amazing, they might not start out as boldly as others but throughout the songs their are some crazy ass riffs and breakdowns.

Not to mention how could you possibly say two big guns? Selkies, All Bodies, Alaska? I don't see how you can't at least recognize three great songs on this cd.

As do I, mainly because this is one of the few bands that I love to see progress. All bodies is good :[. I love Croakies but i think i'm alone on that. I'm pretty sure he does this crazy ass pig squeal on it.

there isn't one song of this record that i wouldn't listen to. even laser speed is damn cool.

I honestly think Colors has the potential to be a 5 in my book. BTBAM has been toying with a bunch of sweet ideas that if effectively combined together, along with some new ideas, will make just an amazing progressive metal/hardcore album.

Who gives a shit what genre they are? The music fucking rips. Genre's don't mean shit when you can jam like they can. People can call this country for all I care.

Where do you get hardcore from?

Josh D.

Hardcore comes from their roots. South Carolina southern hardcore.

I agree with Chimera...Colors is probably going to be classic before I even hear it.

And mike, you pretty much have to grow a third ear to enjoy this band.
I hated them when I was a BTBAM virgin. They sounded to me like scatterbrained musicians who couldn't calm down.
Then...Shzaam.

By the way the folk two step guitar at the end of The Primer is great...I've never heard that before.

Sorry if it appeared as though that comment was made in response to your message. It wasn't. It was intended for the genre argument at the beginning of the thread. Calling me a girl means nothing. Good one.

No problem girl caller. I'm pretty sure I know why you instinctively call me a girl. It's gotta be because I'm a huge Cardinal fan and you, per your profile pic, are an Astro fan. I forgive you for both. This Message Edited On 07.27.07

I don't really see what the rest of the album has beyond it's 2 big guns. It has other cool songs I guess, but not near as stellar the other 2.

I agree with you, Josh. I think that the album really has 2 incredible songs, a whole bunch of good ones, and one or two just decent ones, but definatly, it has 2 really "big guns".

I don't care what genre it is really either. But the hardcore's there imo, it just isn't the melodic metalcore most are used to hearing and it's not cut and dry hardcore, its obviously very metal. Its just when I listen to the music I get a hardcore vibe thats all. Hbp thats kinda what I'm hoping for with colors. It's 8 songs and 65 mintues hopefully every song is a big gun.

go to youtube and watch some of their videos from their self-titled.
They played hardcore at hardcore shows. Just better than most hardcore...expansive entertaining hardcore.

Good :-)

From the clippage on the studio video for colors, theres some pretty ridiculous bass riffs and some crazy rhythms.

This is up there with one of my most anticipated albums of the year. Its weird that i never was even following their new stuff and all of a sudden i see a bulletin saying that their newest record is finished. I fweakied.

As much as I love this album, I think that the studio clips for Colors already beat this entire disc - I cant wait for the new release!!

^^^I wish there was someway we could protest the release of Colors. They have no business releasing a new album after that crapola fest Alaska.
