ok sorta totally disagree... cuz this album fucking kicks ass... even though craig owens' vocals may be a little shitty at times that does not take away from the awesomeness of the album as a whole. this album has some of the most beautiful pieces of music i have ever heard and also some of the most heavy and brutal stuff on it also....
all in all it kicks ass

I disagree with most of this review starting with the music itself. Chiodos does not sound like any band i have listened to and therefore I don't see how it can be called generic in any way. I think Chiodos did many of the things they set out to do in this album (although BPB was definately an improvement.) As far as the singing goes, it is very obvious why many people don't like Craig Owen's singing because he's just not very good, but I don't think it brings the band down as much as the review suggests. The instrumentals in this band are far from generic or cookie cutter or anything of that nature and arent crappy. These guys can play. I am not in any way "insecure about my music taste" and I like this band. Here's hoping they keep up the good work.

chiodos aren't generic because they sound exactly like other post hardcore bands, they're generic because they take the scream/sing and soft/heavy ideas massively overused in modern post hardcore to the extremes and just end up being a magnified example of what's generic about a good deal of modern post hardcore. i just think they try to hard. and i haven't heard the blood brothers so idk about that comparison.

I seem to be one of the few who actually enjoy Craig Owen's voice.

Craig owens is the most innovative singer in the "scene" today, Chiodos is probably the best band out there, and for those of you who talk like you're fucking simon cowell, shut the fuck up, you dont know shit, i would love to know who you retards listen to.

A friend recommended it to me and I just wasted an hour of my life listening to another generic, experimental band. This Message Edited On 03.11.09

Paramore really isn't that good.
And I'm not quite sure about Vampire Weekend.

they are both good in moderation but if they get overplayed then they start to suck

It may not be creative, but I still don't find it to be terrible. Just my opinion but I find it very catchy in parts.

I like this band but I understand why so many people hate them. I agree with Mentality though Paramore and Vampire Weekend arent that good.
