"it would be cool if they rerecorded this some day. these tunes would be stellar with better production and vocals. tommy sounds like complete shit on this."
"They never will, I remember them saying they'll never play anything pre-Colors live save for one song (Seksis maybe? I don't remember)"
I have good news for the first guy and bad news for the second guy. The 2020 remaster of this is on CD/vinyl, Apple Music and Spotify now. It sounds pretty crazy, especially being able to hear Tommy front and center as opposed to muffled in the background.
I don't like how they compressed some of the distorted vocals because they can be very grating to listen to. Vocals aren't as bad as I thought they would be now that they're clear. I like what they did with some of the clean parts by adding new layers of vocal tracks. I'll have more thoughts on this later, but I'm wondering if anyone has taken the time to check it out yet?

Excited to jam it tonight. Great album, just not on the same level as most of their other stuff.

The only remaster I've heard that I actually thought was worth existing was You Fail Me. This BTBAM remix still sounds unbalanced just in a different way than the original. It also sounds weird, like digitally processed.

i think the remix makes it way clearer. still maintains the rawness of the original but makes it way less muddy

The YFM remix completely transforms the album for the better

Got the remaster on vinyl. Been a long time since I've listened to this so it almost feels like hearing it for the first time again especially with the new mix. Use of a Weapon, holy shit.
