I don’t think it’s ugly I think it’s bad. I can appreciate dissonance in proper context but the vocal melodies on Jane doe are comically bad. Especially considering he didn’t even have to follow a lyrical framework. Axe to fall is just a convoluted mess of word salad and excessive vocals that drowns out the musicianship
