Phh, you should never pull out a musical wankery argument on me - I dislike alot of bands for wankery. No, I dislike mewithoutyous music because it doesn't sound good to me. Thats it.
And its not just their religious lyrics (although, thats a part of it - as an athiest I really don't get alot of what they're saying when it comes down to the religious side of things, its too confined)...I just don't feel any passion or connection to what they're doing.

I never said you specifically made that argument, and now that I think about it that was a gross overstatement and I apologize...its more people find their music "over simplistic" or w/e which I feel is a non-issue since the main focus is really on Weiss...besides...the compositional and atmospheric aspects of the music are far from simplistic...
However, if you genuinely just don't like their music for any reason, there really isn't a problem with that...and as far as the lyrics, I am a Christian, so I can see how the emotional/spiritual connections might not work without being religious...even then, a lot of the lyrics are metaphorical and indirect so you can take them to mean what you want...

Oh, there are some songs that I loved the lyrics for...he just sort of ranted them though and it didn't do anything for me.

Ranted? I don't ever recall any of Weiss's performances being rant-y but I guess i can see the argument due to the pseudo spoken word delivery or whatever...
If you had stuck with "sucks" to describe it I wouldn't have accepted it :D I still don't really get it but I guess that's ok...it just really gets to me when people just say something "sucks" instead of "it really doesn't click for me" or something to that effect...sorta sets me off sometimesThis Message Edited On 10.24.08

no as long as you support your opinion without sounding like you have no idea what you're talking about, most people will accept that. Except other people who have no idea what they're talking about either. Argument ends up turning into mass retardation session and it gets pretty messy.
Captain North probably doesn't like mewithoutyou in the same sense that I don't like Converge or CTTS. I just don't generally listen to that kind of music. It's pretty simple.
