I'm possibly the only Zao-basher on this whole site. They're not even fun to bash tho. Those horrid vocals come in and I just immediately shut it off. They're not as bad as A7X or Converge tho, to be fair. I just despise that whole cacophonous metalcore niche in general. Bands like Gaza, Cult Leader, Trap Them, Zao, Converge, Botch, etc. all just sound like complete shit to me. My one exception tho is Dillinger. They always stood out in a good way for their live shows and songwriting chops.
