This is probably the most quotable of 2021

It easily could have been my AOTY, and in time may prove to be

Oooh you tease

IRA is too darn long admit it ;)

I’m happy this ending up a strong and respectable 5th for me…it could have snuck ahead of The War on Drugs for 4th, that was a close call

I’d much rather listen to this twice. I’ve convinced a friend of mine that this is where it’s at and now he’s dropping me lyrics all day lol.

Just like you guys…

IRA is too long for sure but IMO it never actually falters

It's one of those scenarios where I know IRA is objectively better, but I'll end up listening to this more because if its accessibility

Illusory Walls and Hushed & Grim are also virtual AOTY ties for me

It's been a great year for music

Hushed & Grim is perhaps a case of comeback of the year - or the best metal or rock double album since…a long time for me at least

Pleased it made my top 25 but not sure it’s doing quite enough I haven’t heard before to be a top 10 of the year sort of deal

I’ll listen to ‘Illusory Walls’ now and see what I think, guessing it’ll be too emo’y for my tastes

Hmm, the penultimate song on ‘Illusory Walls’ is so good I feel I should have warmed to the rest more :/

I didn't picture Illusory Walls being much your thing but it is very good for what it is. You might appreciate it if you feel like spending more time on it. The last 3 tracks are all gold and the closer is my SOTY.

This has you written all over it yeah

I added it to the staff "albums you might have missed" thread but now I regret not shoutboxing you directly :-(

Edit: I checked your shoutbox history and I did! I suppose it's karma for all those recs you've given me that are still on the waiting list.

I'd agree with that - I do really like the quirky pair of Silverfish and Be At Rest too

I really love the lyrics on silverfish, they’re so quaint and laughable. My favourite tracks right now are prob Jazz, Money and Inferno with a sidekick of Valium.

Jazz, Inferno, and Be At Rest are tops for me

Money Talks is a dark horse favorite and is probably very close to a tie for 3rd with Be At Rest

That middle stretch is so good, but We Shall Live Again still might be the best for me. This is the type of album that seemingly demands an "epic closer" but it seems like it's impossible to deliver a worthy one, and then it's as great as it should be.
