Damn, that review was a ride. I thought the album was alright. I didn't care for the vocal delivery though. It almost was as if John Haughm (Agalloch) fronted a death metal band, very airy and raspy without a lot of low end

Am I the only one who really loves the first track and then can't remember a single thing that comes after it no matter how many times I listen?

I find Arctic stronghold, merciless, and twist the knife as well as the singles to be standouts but yeah it’s all the same shit

Arctic stranglehold with that bass drop into fight riff moment

Its very midtempo. To add a little more speed/tempo shifts here and there, and some leads/ hooks could help. That said I really dig this breathed cold vocals, the mix and the sound is also cold and filthy at the same time. Like, the concept is really cool - death and ice.

I mean this is good... it's just not anything special. As many have said, there are a couple standouts, but they don't really carry it further than it would've gone anyway

This is unabashed Bolt-Thrower worship, and I love it.
|
| |
admittedly I've only heard like two bolt thrower albums but I don't really get the comparison tbh
