Completely missed the new singles

These melodies don't to anything for me, same for TWBWM and Golem, I hate to say this
Nothing grips me. RR did a way better job, and other people criticised it for the same issue

Yeah, the instrumentals are all pretty quality but I’m not getting into the vocals for these singles at all. Though to be fair, I felt exactly the same about this album it just took a long while to grow on me. Hoping the new album does the same

Uh, good to hear I am not alone. The vocals are spot on on RR though, and I thought that from the start, haha. Maybe that's some covid/depression brain fog thing for Jim. I agree the instrumentals are quality, even though I wish for more memorable moments there as well. In Contact was full of them

In Contact was just too good lol. I feel like the singles are growers for sure

I do think the chorus on the first two singles were outshined by the verses/bridges as far as how catchy they were, but The Stormchaser's chorus is a total earworm. The ending of TWBWM is still the best moment so far (that freaking riff). I think CHorse melodies have always been somewhat unconventional and can sound a little clunky sometimes (Slow Violence) but it works for me, especially these three singles.

I just wish these guys would tone it down with the arena prog a bit bc that definitely holds them back from writing captivating music. That new single sounds like a decent soundtrack to The Last Of Us with all it's usual modal changes from Jim which I already picked up seconds before they're happening.

I have no idea what that means, and I feel like I'm better for it.

It means they are getting exceedingly close to their comfort zone.

Becoming predictable, I guess. I didn't find this predictable though, I thought this would be more for me lol

The singles are growing on me
I guess the amount of whispered lines isn't making the songs any catchier, and some production issues make the vocals sound weirdly quiet

This was one of my favourite albums of 2020 and it still slaps. I find it kinda hard to believe this album is almost 4 years old tbh. Anyway, cannot wait for their new album although I hope the rest of the album is better than Golem. Not that it is bad per say but it is rather unremarkable for the band.

I'm mega hyped for this, and love Golem, but every review I've seen said it's the outlier. Seems the rest are either epics or softer sections. I'm guessing it's the most straightforward song on the album.

The more Caligula's Horse I listen to today the more excited I get for their album tomorrow. I might bring Rise Radiant back to a 5. It is at the very least tempting.

That is great to hear. I have only listened to Golem from the singles and I was hoping the rest of the album would be better.

Oh wow, congrats, because The World Breathes With Me is an excellent intro epic, and I still love it after listening to it a ton since it was released.

Ye I've only done one single once and don't really remember it, much rather do the new one as a whole before I formulate any opinion and also just not so hyped coming off of this one that I was dying to hear the new singles that bad.
RR is a good album but def started to feel like they were playing it safe/getting into their comfort zone for sure, and the more pop-djenty riffing on shit like Tempest and Valkyrie while catchy and not at all bad per se is just not rly them doing what their best at and we already have so much of it out there. Autumn and the last track are definitely great tho. In Contact and Bloom were just better.
