I'm hoping the Lenderman guitar playing will bring that extra oomph I wanted from this.

I'm avoiding the singles, very excited for the new record. Saint Cloud will probably end up being a top 25 album for this decade for me.

I do like this a lot and I totally see why some people really love it but I also wonder how different the reception would have been if it hadn’t come out in peak Covid lockdown.

I mean I vividly remember driving to work each morning singing along to the singles knowing this was something special, march 30th just sealed the deal

I have zero doubt that covid lockdown made me love this more, but I'm okay with that. Despite being terrifying, it was also a relatively peaceful time for me. Lots of time at home, watching my firstborn son, taking him to parks, etc. Never spent that much time with my family and it turned out to be a wonderful thing. This album (along with several others, like Starmaker) take me back to that. I realize how privileged/annoying that sounds given how many people suffered and died, but I'm strictly talking about the music and the memories I connected it to.
