Hmmm yeah I hear it a little bit there. But the real offensive example is Ambassador Bridge from this and then Thunderbird Inn from the first Aaron West album. Listen to the first 15 seconds of each. Pretty hilarious

I am excited to check that. Anyway, listened to the new soupy record and honestly it was pleasant. I get a lot more out of the cohesive story telling in the Aaron west albums, but good background jams for sure.

Pleasant is the word for sure. Not as affecting as Aaron West but still great

finally heard it, it's...good. more or less on par with this. I know these are songs he literally wrote for other people by request but idk, it felt very disengaged to me. I'm just not getting the magic from anything after Bittersweet EP (some of his best work still)

The lyrics are very good, which is expected, but the music is not interesting to me at all. I’m guessing that these were initially just performed with an acoustic guitar and the orchestrations added in after the point aren’t doing much for me

This worth revisiting? I adore We Don't Have Each Other, but I feel like it was lightning in a bottle and was all of the latte angst that I could handle and on initial listens to this (years ago) and the other singles, they had B-sides-y feels

I mean I would say so. The EP and Orchard Park single are amazing as well

New single is great. A bit lost where it fits into the story but excited for the album!

I randomly downloaded the whole discog earlier this week and listened to it on my flight and boom, new single a couple days later. Great timing.

Prefer the EP and Orchard Park to this album immensely. But low tier Soupy is still good.

Yeah I prefer everything else over this, but the final 3 songs on this hit like a freight train

Didn't think Aaron West was going to end up in rehab after so much growth in the last album, Runnin' Out of Excuses caught me off-guard, really digging the new songs.

Just gave it another listen with lyrics. Story/music is better than Routine Maintenance imo. Not sure any of it slams me as hard as the last ~3 songs on this one did.
