I created an account just so I could post how much I love this album and that those with a contradictory opinion are obviously under the influence of music-crappening drugs.

I've been listening to this album since before it was technically released, and I keep coming back to it like it's laced with aural oxycontin. I'd rate it a 4, though at first I would have given it a 4.5. It's newness has worn off, but the insane melodies, technical musicology and sheer amount of fun-time energy remains. also, I think the singer's voice adds a lot to their sound. If they didn't have this singer, they'd be good, but not great and if this singer was in a different band without the mescaline-fueled guitarists, I probably wouldn't dig it too much. But throw it all together and it makes for one kick-ass sonic experience.

tasteful wankery is good, tasteful wankery this is not...but it isnt Dream Theater caliber wankery. So i can tolerate and enjoy it.

Didn't quite know what to make of this record at first, but after giving it a few re-listens I began to appreciate it more, the more I listened. I wouldn't say it's the best representation of the style I've heard yet, but it's up there. I def appreciate the writers enthusiasm on the subject though
