Took me awhile but Im finally getting into these guys. Awesome lyrics. The music on this album is better than on Deja Entendu, but the lyrics are possibly a little worse. This Message Edited On 10.21.08

Changed my mind about the lyrics now.

Phh, the best song on the album is Handcuffs, hands down. "I'd drive my car off of a bridge, if I knew you weren't inside"

There are three dud songs imo though - Limousine, Welcome to Bangkok and Untitled.

LIMOUSINE? You retard. That's one of the most beautiful songs written in this day and age.

...How? It's overlong (I'm not against long songs, but this one goes on for about 3 minutes too many)...and a good chunk of it is repeating, which only ever works if its catchy. After the first few minutes it just bores the crap outta me.

But I have changed my mind about Welcome and Untitled. Musically they work extremely well.

Two things.

The first is tension- the song themes itself around tragedy and shock, and thus Lacey's repeated whispers of "never again" and the repeated lyrics of "I love you so much, but do me a favour" etc emphasise the intensity of what he is singing about. Which leads me to my second point, that being the song's emotion.

The steady rise of the song near the end, with the louder vocals and the culminate guitar solo is honestly one of the most starkly powerful things I have listened to in a very long time, especially when I was first getting into this band.

I understand thats theres tension and emotion (even I don't really feel it as much on here as I do on other tracks, but thats just me) but its just repeated once or two too many. Which ends up giving me a sense of anti-climax moments before the actual climax, which spoils the whole thing.
