it had been public knowledge he was suffering from cancer for a few years now i thought, although all specific details regarding it were private as far as i know

I remember hearing something but I assumed it was like Tommy Iommi where he was managing it and living with it over an extended period of time. 28 is no age to go and I can only extend my sympathies to his family and friends, by the sounds of it he took a turn for the worse in a short space of time.
