@deathofasalesman unless you're referring to Hopeless and Beaten.. it definitely has a stoner/doom metal sound going on

i also enjoy having goofy takes, for instance, the nothing is the best korn album

I find it strange that no-one has mentioned the production. So far I've only heard 'Lost in the Grandeur' from the album but the mixing sounded so off that it almost distracted me from listening to the actual music. To my ear this is way too clean, modern and treble-heavy sound for Korn.

I thought this was alright it's just that some of the songs do have cool heavy moments while the rest of the songs and album is filled with more softer and melodic ballads.

Gaius, I don’t think it sounds too different from what the band’s done recently on TSOS and The Nothing? I’ve read some people complaining that the production is way too “loud” though (in regards to the loudness war movement). Don’t know enough to speak further on it.

Haven't heard the previous album but to me this sounds totally different than The Serenity of Suffering. It just doesn't have that low-end punch and instead has way more treble that makes my ears bleed. And that stock sample on snare just doesn't fit Korn's sound. But maybe it's just me.

Thankfully this Korn isn't well done there's still some hard parts of Korn. I'm glade they didn't fully cooked this all the way other wise it would of been much softer.

The more I listen to this the more "its cool nothing extremely noteworthy" it gets. Fine/cool album. Makes me just want to listen to their better albums more than anything

Had to drop this a bit - bit of a ‘race to the chorus’ album a lot of the time.

Feels like the invariably melodic, pop’y chorus comes in after 5 seconds on half these songs, a bit desperate to make an impression.

Formulaic is ok but ‘formulaic in a rush’ can become a chore to listen too, becomes tiring.
