This could grow on me. Hated Hurricane the first time I heard it but now I like it. Can't say the same for The Window or Wake Up though.

I kinda forgot this came out. I'll listen to it now

Listening to Hurricanes right now and love it. Nice riffs

The Long Defeat is one of the best Thrice songs I've ever heard, even though the main guitar riff reminds me of something of the likes of Paramore o.O

The Window is really good too. I'm with you on Wake Up though. That's the only one I haven't cared much for so far

I thought Whistleblower was a weird song too. Didn't enjoy at first, but after a few listens I like it. I think the end is the closest thing to Vheissu and before.

I don't get the complaints against the lyrics other than Stay With Me and Wake Up. They're nothing great, but they're solid.

Had to bump this up after a few more listens :D

Whistleblower is the one I'm on right now and sounds just like old Thrice, imo so I wouldn't call it weird

I really enjoyed this album. Felt like it flew right on by though. I find it weird that I appreciated the more poppy songs "The Long Defeat" and "Stay with Me" the most. Really wasn't a weak point on here besides "Wake Up". Loved "Salt and Shadow" for like the first half but felt it dragged on a little longer than it should've.

The Window is totally badass, don't get the hate. It also sounds nothing like Foo Fighters.

I said Whistleblower sounded like old Thrice, lol. It was weird to me because I didn't like it at first and couldn't put a finger on it. Now I like it. That end sounds like something off of Vheissu.

"Thrice manages to bring lots of genuine emotion to the table" this is a bit of a strange remark in a review for the ninth album of a band who have 100% worn their hearts on their sleeves since day one; sounds kinda surprised.

Meaning, for the more simplistic approach they took here. Same goes for M/M imo

Nice review, man. I've been recently getting into this band and I've listened to Vheissu over 10 times already. I will definitely check this out.

BTW, why aren't you staff yet? :

Not to sound like I'd automatically make staff if I applied, but it's just a personal choice. I just like having the freedom to review at my own pace and it's less pressure for me. Thanks for the kind words!

Wake Up is honestly pretty great. The chorus is kind of repetitive, sure, but the bridge and verses are pretty fantastic.

Does this band still sound like jawbox for 13 year old?
