I like this A LOT.
Seriously, possibly the best physical album I've picked up all year. At this point, it's topping Simple Math, which is saying a lot in my book.
I think Short-Haired Tornado is pretty sweet.

I also really like A Loophole in Limbo.
I like every song on this thing so far, though... Even Rikki, even though it's so weird.

Amarillo is so good, my favorite on this. Every song rules though, except for maybe the interludes.

The interludes are pretty cool though, nice little instrumental sections, even if they're only like 50 seconds long lol.
So far, my favorite is Golden Parachutes, it just flows so smoothly, I love it. It's hard to choose though, all the songs are incredible. This might by my AOTY...

For me, it's A Loophole In Limbo, The Greener Grass, and Short-Haired Tornado.
I like the first interlude, but the second two did nothing for me.

The El Cielo comparisons make me want to avoid this like the plague

This doesn't really sound like El Cielo, it's a lot more fun.

Really, nothing like el cielo besides that it's alt rock with an interesting spin to it.

THERE ARE SNAKES IN THE GRASS SO WE BETTER GO HUNTING
rikki is a great song. the first couple listens i thought the "RIKKI TIKKIII" part was hilarious (still do) but it also sounds great. it's easy to understand why it's such a polarizing song though. i think it might end up being the most talked about song on sputnik this year.

This album is amazing. I can't pick a favorite because almost every track is equally amazing.
However, I hate Rikki Tikki. I like the softer portions, but then RIKKI TIKKI TAVI comes along and kills it. I can't even enjoy it ironically. I don't think it hurts the album at all though.

I might actually like this more than Fables. The thing is, I originally adored Fables, I think I may even recall calling it one of the most enjoyable records of '07, but after revisiting it recently I can't help but lose interest because of how homogenous it is. After re-listening, I can't seem to recall a more formulaic album of that year, but I shouldn't complain too much - the formula worked well enough and there are still a lot of tracks worthy of salvaging. I have to admit, I was skeptical about Arrows and Anchors. While Fables' formula worked well enough, I knew that it couldn't be done twice without their audience losing interest. I'm a little taken aback by how much they've matured. This is a complete shocker, an album that feels progressive and sounds different all the way through.
Edit: lol, accidental soundoff.

Way better than Fables imo. I couldn't get into that one as much, even though it has some great songs.

I think if I were to discover Fables for the first time today I wouldn't appreciate it anywhere near as much as I did in the past.
