After I finally listened to the album, I really enjoyed it. Her vocals are great especially on some of the ballads. The instrumentation is great for a pop record. Some of my faves were: Better Than Revenge, Haunted, Back to December, and Mean.

"She’s not a saint, and she’s not what you think

She’s an actress, whoa

She’s better known for the things that she does

On the mattress, whoa"

that's all they put on better than revenge. do these people know that calling out a person who happens to be a girl doesn't = misogynistic?

"*kate nash is a feminist and has changed her ways since this song, but she still won’t take any responsibility for her blantantly misogynistic lyrics in the past."

"Every time music is mentioned in the context of misogyny, you will undoubtedly hear some disparaging remark about how misogynistic rap and hip-hop music is, and how degrading it is, etc etc etc.

This is a thinly-veiled form of racism, and that is what this blog is intending to point out. Other genres of music are just as misogynistic, if not more so in some respects, however only the genres that are predominantly black artists seem to be criticised for it.

We intend to draw attention to the fact that a lot of music is misogynistic, and pretending that black folk are the most sexist is unacceptable."

this suddenly makes sense.
