Hey baby, I'm trying my hardest.
Also, look at my album ratings. What did I give Wu-Tang and ATCQ? Or was that your ironic "joke"?

it doesn't matter, it's so fun watching robots defend BMTH, and the rest of arsecore.
In terms of vocals, Mikael Akerfeldt owns my soul. I may be a little biased as they are my favourite band, but I still think he rules.
I also like Davey from JFAC, he is an impressive vocalist. It's a shame JFAC are only average. I really liked the concept for Genesis though, I only wish the music had been better.
And to keep this comment within the confines of this thread, I will now say that in terms of WHATEVER GENRE THEY MAY BE, Bring Me the Horizon are still awful.
And I mean awful in a bad way. As in they suck.

Akerfeldt is really good. Genesis is a really weak album though, everything about JFAC is so much better on Doom. This Message Edited On 11.01.07

Mikael Akerfeldt=random
But yeah, I like him too.
|
| |
yay I now like you robots. I hope maybe you may understand my view on BMTH when you understand my love for Opeth.
|
| |
i am the robots, because songs are fast and loud doesn't make it emotional. If you go by how emotional musicians are then you are in the wrong genre. Eric Clapton and classic rock guitar players are full of emotion but I bet you don't listen to them. I just listened to a lot like vegas and it sounds like a shitty version of Arsis song with a copy and paste breakdown that fills the metalcore/hardcore breakdown. You sir have given no valid points whatsoever besides saying "imma chargin mah shit on j00!!!!! BMTH rocks mah socks wright 0fF!!!!!!!!!!!" This is not metal sir, this is metalcore. Get jir facts straight.
|
| |
oh I wouldn't say he was random Correction. He really knows what he's doing.
Robots: I liked Doom a lot better than Genesis, but I go wet over concept albums, and Genesis actually had an interesting concept. That's the only reason I bought it, I actually read the booklet more than I listen to the album.

| |
No, I meant that no one even mentioned anything about Akerfeldt until you did.

Fosster: you just said breakdowns are a hardcore element and then told me to get my facts straight.
And saying something isn't emotional just because it's "fast and loud" is retarded as hell. Saying Arsis is better than anything is retarded as hell. Calling Bring Me The Horizon metalcore is retarded as hell. Listen to Botch and This Runs Through, then listen to Bring Me The Horizon, then listen to At The Gates and The Black Dahlia Murder, compare and contrast, tell me which bands BMTH actually sounds like.
Listen to Oli's vocals, how are they not emotional?
And fine, if you want emotional music, listen to Dead Man In Reno, listen to Skycamefalling, etc. I don't get what points your making, you just seem incredibly ignorant.
Reznor: I like the lyrical content of all JFAC, I know what you mean. Genesis isn't bad, it's just not as good as Doom. This Message Edited On 11.01.07

Correction: No one probably mentioned him because they forgot all about him because he is so good.
robots: I also like their demo more than Genesis, there is a song on there called Day in Black which is my all time favourite JFAC song, it's better than anything on Doom or Genesis, imo.

robots, even with subjectivity taken into consideration, these guys are just an unoriginal re-hash of As I Lay Dying's and The Black Dahlia Murder's worst moments. Even if the vocals are "good" (I think they're pretty annoying tbh), these guys really have no merit as artists, regardless of how much you like them.
And cut the subjectivity crap, you keep saying how much some bands suck but the ones you like are so much better. Make up your mind if how good something is is subjective or not.

JFACs demo is their best material IMO.
|

lawlz ensue. BMTH's vocals aren't emotional at all. They're just loud. If the vocals don't evoke meaning or send a shiver down my spine, then no I don't consider it emotional at all. I never said Arsis was perfect, I just said that that shitty song sounded like a shitty version of an Arsis song. I like Arsis, but they are not my favorite band. BMTH's lyrics are laughable at best, so get your facts straight. To you, anything loud is emotional.

I don't know why I like the vocals.
|
| |
I generally don't like high vocals. The Black Dahlia Murder are the only exception. I'm seeing them live in 5 days, and I sure hope the vocals are good live. I remember a band that opened for JFAC. called Gallows for Grace, and their vocalist had a really high pitch and it just sounded horrible on stage.

I envy you.

yeah, their playing with Cephalic Carnage and supported by my favourite local band Malignant Monster (from Perth, Western Australia). We hardly get any good shows here so I take up every opportunity when a band comes over.

okay, saying vocals are bad because they're high pitched is just stupid.
