Yeah, they've been alright. Better than this so far but still nowhere near as good as the stuff from Vol.3

There's still no real highlights they're just really solid. Almost half of vol. 3 are highlights, only one or two on s/t and Iowa

Agreed, but I still don't know how you think Duality is their best. Like, c'mon maaan, half the songs on Vol.3 are better

Dualitys like experimental and the chorus is amazing and it's really different for them and I like the lyrics, though prelude, before I forget, and opium come close to being as good

Dualitys like experimental
maybe in terms of the vocals, but idk, i always just felt duality screamed "obligatory radio single" in comparison to all the other tracks. i mean it's still an awesome track by all means; just never saw it near the top of my lists

duality takes me back to 7th grade when i thought it was the heaviest song ever made

I'd like Vol. 3 more if Corey's vocals weren't lacking so much on it. He's even said in interviews that he was unhappy with the choice of vocal takes that were put on the final record.

Really? Because I think his vocals sound pretty great on that album.
|

agreed, but yeah he did say that. I think it's actually on the Wikipedia page for Vol. 3 too.

"Metulz, if you don't mind me asking, what were the main steps you took to to becoming a music journalist?
If it's too long to describe, don't bother. I'm just curious since I'd like to go down a similar path."
@Froost, I dunno really I just kinda stumbled into it. I'd been reviewing stuff on here for a few years
and then one of my friends said they work for this site and if they put me in touch with their senior
editor would I be interested in a tryout. They gave me Anti-Mortem's new album as a try-out and liked it
so I've stayed on and done a bunch of reviews since (a mix of stuff I wanted to give a bit of exposure too
and stuff they've assigned to me, all here: http://www.rocksins.com/author/philip-whitehead/) I mean I'm
still learning parts of it like interviewing (and getting good recording gear cos my recording of the
interview with Josh Gilbert is near impossible to understand) and learning to be more negative in overall
reviews cos I tend to always look for the positives in the music I review instead of just calling
something bad.

I like the vocals on Vol 3. Sounds raw
