That's still a lot of cringe though tbh

not a fan of architects very bland metalcore. Spiritbox is a little less bland but yeah, not that far off.

"everybody talks about them like they're the next big thing, a musical godsend,

which got me listening. They are good but personnally nothing special here. They are similar to a harsher version of Flyleaf firmly rooted in Metalcore with NIN and Korn influences. a good listen but nothing more. They have been overhyped by so many."

you had me at harsher version of Flyleaf 😏

@venin I didn’t, but maybe that’s me wishing they sounded more like their pre-“Eternal Blue” selves, maybe even back to their “Hail Mary” IWABO origins. This album is competently executed yet creatively dull radio alt metal, nothing more.

majorly overhyped. They are touted like the best metal band since sliced bread, the future of metal. Loudwire With titles like "How Spiritbox Became Metal's Most Promising Band" and all those youtubers and reactors gushing at them like they are trencendant and groundbreaking.

They are not any of these things. Just a competent band that appeals to a wider audience.

lol Hail Mary back in the discussion, that album was just a proper send off for iwabo, still so glad Court and Mike moved on

I finally listened to the two IWABO albums with Courtney last week and they were okay but nothing to write home about. Pretty much everything Spiritbox has done is inifinitely better imo

Spiritbox just feels like a more fleshed out creative direction for Court and Mike, like the Witcher 3 after The Witcher 2

Love all Spiritbox, but gotta agree on wishing for pre-Eternal Blue stuff. Self-Titled and Singles Collection will continue to trounce everything else they put out for me.
