more than life [2]

Pedantic lol nice. More power to ya liking this, just don’t like shiny production on core, whether it’s melodic or not. Feel like it loses its impact. Generally not a big clean vocal guy in music like this either.
Also check: departures, manners, verse, American nightmare, life in your way, champion (but don’t google the singer lol), sinking ships, etc etc, that mid to late 2000s era was crucial, and obv Shai Hulud is the best to ever do it

All listed bands are solid. If anything, this reminds me of gates

I could see that, I guess this is more on the post hardcore realm of things which is just a dead genre to me at this point unless it’s like dischord records style revival stuff. I feel like this band was really trying to ape a lot of the mid 2000s deathwish stuff when they first came out and I had a roommate that listened to the first record so much it became like nails on a chalkboard to me so if this is even singier/cheesier than that stuff im gonna just stay in my lane

Clean vocals in this style is...not a must, but when they're there, usually the singers are great so they elevate the songs.

So you’re telling me there’s a chance

There’s a lot of cool shit going on in the raw skramz revival camps these days that I guess you could consider post hardcore then we have bands like militarie gun and truth cult active too, so there’s stuff going on, but idk most of the shit yall geek out over on Sputnik is literally just pop music with harsh vocals sprinkled into it

“Prob my favorite genre and definitely the most influential to me”
Some of my most favorite albums and the most taste-shaping albums for me in my teens were absolutely post hardcore, not knocking the genre as a whole by any means, just saying the last time I was blown away by a modern post hardcore record was uhhhh I don’t remember
