Glitch Princess took me time. Highs are really highs, Bites on my Neck is a 10/10 song, but there's some songs I still skip, contrary to this album

Bites on my Neck is a 10/10 song [2]
Also calling this a Grimes impression is very weird, what Grimes album sounds like this?

can vibe both in context, but I'd rather jam anything on this over Flowers Are Dead or Perfect Blue I think
Glitch Princess from Don't Be So Hard thru to the end is still the stretch of tracks to beat for Yeule though (and yh Bites [3] and Friendly Machine are the world beaters there)

Grimes is to Yeule what Diet Dr. Pepper is to screwdrivers

Y'all can say what you like about Grimes but despite her general ridiculousness and drop off in quality since the release of Miss A, at her peak she was pure class. There's a reason Visions and Art Angels appeared in so many "best of the decade" lists.
I do see the comparison between Softscars and Art Angels in particular - both in sound and aesthetic - but this is not on the level of either that album or Visions. It's just not.
At least we can all agree Yeule is making the better music now.

This sounds nothing like Art Angels what...

This would probably sound a lot more like Art Angels if Grimes had known the first thing about playing guitar on that album

Well there are like no guitars is my point, that album is a sugary sweet sounding electropop album with depressing lyrics, this is dreamy and ethereal
I think Art Angels is amazing, but yeah no this doesn't sound like Grimes other than "lolz cyber girls"

Good for you if you've forgotten em, but there are boilerplate and often poorly mixed rhythm guitars all over Art Angels and Grimes has played them herself live (footage I've seen of Flesh Without Blood with live instrumentation is like watching paint dry one quaver at a time, v nearly killed the song for me)
Lyrics on this are also far darker and more substantive than anything Grimes ever wrote, even if the overall tone is more optimistic

Ok yeah I am relistening to AA right now and there are guitars you're right, but they're in the background and sound nothing like the guitars front and center in a lot of songs here

Oh yeah defs don't think they resemble the guitars here, just mean that they were one of Art Angels' many haphazard aspects

Colton do you have like a post-count goal with the alts or do you just keep plugging away until the inevitable

Please give more reccs for artists that do hit the drone/melodic ratio that george clanton does half the time and yeule does during the chorus of sulky baby
that is peak
