There's talent in the instrumentation, but it all sounds uninteresting to me. I've always disliked the vocals and that hasn't changed here. I could maybe get into their previous albums if they had a different vocalist, but I honestly doubt I'll ever truly get into this band.

its always incredible to me how anyone could dislike ross' vocals.

I mean I don't hate his vocals Flug but you really can't see how someone can dislike him?

he has grown a lot more tolerable over the past few releases. His intimidating low raspy vocals are still pretty cringe (he does them in Elephants Never Forget)

Nah bruh this album doesn't deserve to be the lowest rated, I would put it in the middle. There's three albums that are worse and three albums that are better. How is Aquarius better than this lol.
Also Jesus Christ this album got slaughtered in ProgArchives

"The most untalented album I listened to during last 10-12 years. Noisy and empty. Virtuoso musicianship plus interesting lyrics vs complete absence of musical content. All the band members play their instruments fine, but what they play is hooey, not music. Awful. A saturnalia of dullness. Impossible to believe that it's the same band who started with amazing Aquarius 13 years ago. Looks (i.e. sounds) like they have completely written themselves out. They've come to the point that they literally squeeze out their musical themes from nothing. I was sure that Vector was a bad album. I was wrong. In comparison to Fauna, Vector is a piece of perfection."

Haken are such a weird band for. One day I am so bored by their stuff, especially their supposed masterpiece The Mountain. The next day I find them amazing love all their stuff. And then the mext next day it's all boring again. Welp

But only for Haken tbf, and Affinity and Vector (and maybe this, we'll see) are my go to Haken. They're consistenly great for me, no moodiness

Affinity is massively underrated. My favorite by them probably.
The Mountain has Falling Back to Earth though which is probably in my top 15 songs all time no cap.
