I'm yet to get my hands on any planars, but so far my dt990 are absolutely enough for me considering how much of light rock vs more aggresive metal I listen to. Getting anything more expensive would require tons of time finding the right V-shape headphones with wide scene (which is a must for me, love tons of space), and then add that $400+ price (I'm from a country where median earnings are around $1.2k/month) and a decent dac... yeah from my pov not worth going that far when my current setup is pretty great already

I think it took me a good 5 or so listens to really appreciate this. Was underwhelmed the first few goes.

This is nothing groundbreaking but is fun as hell and if they continue with this sound I wouldn't be disappointed. The Acts were incredible and so was the color spectrum but there's only so much vaudville rock you can pump out

Bookending this album with The Indigo Child (song) and The Indigo Child (Reprise) makes it feel so much more complete. If you're struggling with this one, give that a go!
Also Ring 6 - LoTown is the sleeper hit from this, it's beautiful!

Few songs in so far, this thing is funkier than an African cab driver

Ring 3 - Luxury is absolutely bonkers I love it

I still really like Ring 7: Industry. I don't love it, but i definitely like it. You guys are making me all nervous to check this.

Don't be nervous, it's a great album. If anything, Ring 7: Industry (and the opening track) are the weakest on here. I've been tempted to bump it to a 4.5, but that means it's on par with Act IV for me... But I feel this could benefit with a few more tracks to reach that level. It feels a bit unfinished.
Like I mentioned above, I feel like they should've saved The Indigo Child to be the opening track, and ended it with The Indigo Child (Reprise). Feels a bit more complete that way.

Honestly can't stop listening to this! Although I find myself skipping the first 2 tracks a lot. Ring 6 - LoTown through to the end is a great run of tracks in my opinion.

Honestly can't stop listening to this! [2]
Ring 6 - LoTown is my least favourite song on the album, honestly - kinda loses the momentum between Ring 7 - Industry and Ring 5 - Middle Class. Definitely the most fun Dear Hunter album, not sure if I can say if it can top Act I though
