I must say I enjoyed early ROS, it was kinda fun, but the last 3 albums were not really good. This is just a mess, feels like they wanted to give the haters some material to diss on

who is this for?

why does this exist?

this sounds like a Berried Alive parody

except that's not right, because a Berried Alive parody would be entertaining, but this is just derivative and can't justify its own existence

EDIT: I STARTED LAUGHING. I STARTED LAUGHING BECAUSE IT TRANSITIONED FROM WANKY GUITARS TO SILENCE EXCEPT FOR A TRAP BEAT AND SHITTY SYNTHS MEANDERING AIMLESSLY

>"what in the michael keene is this"

I saw Keene a few years back. I tell this story too often. This was in the middle of all the news of the rotating lineup, the height of their canceled shows, Keene pissing off his tour managers, stories about his addiction struggles peaking at this point. Like, even days before this show he was all over MetalSucks.

Everyone bailed after Angelmaker. There were maybe 30-40 people standing there in this noticeably empty venue. Huge gaps between people. The kind of gaps that stand out and make you feel real, real fucking bad for the band, who had traveled all that way play, and I felt so embarrassed over how many people left. Because you know that they notice it and internalize it too. But I stood there and watched most (lol) of The Faceless' set, and Keene played his fucking heart out, more than I'd seen in the prior months/years, and nailed his songs, in what I'm sure was a cold-turkey withdrawals. He looked ragged and pale and exhausted. But he nailed the show and didn't make excuses.

My point is Keene at least has the wherewithal to buckle up and get his shit straight and power through a show despite the drama surrounding his behavior.

All Lucas Mann has done was make defensive smarmy YouTube clap back videos.

And then he made this shit record.

"...and Keene played his fucking heart out"

Can confirm, I saw him in 2017, and he absolutely put his soul into it. Heard he's sober now, hopefully we can get that Planetary Duality Remaster sometime and he can put out some killer tech death again. Until then, we got The Zenith Passage.

Awesome, 2017 sounds about right, same tour maybe.

Yeah dude, all my Faceless grief melted away when The Zenith Passage's lineup became....the Planetary Duality lineup lmao. Like, when has that ever occurred -- a band formed on the basis of the sound of one album from another band then gets joined by members of that band. Love it.

It fills the gap for now but I'm super glad to hear he's sober. He hasn't been in metal news in a long time and I guess that's probably a good thing for him. Hope he's healthy and able to bounce back with some more releases soon, because the dude is super talented.

Checked out Keene on IG for the first time in like 5-6 years and he seems to be doing well! The Faceless are even playing a show tonight.

That's the good we got out of subjecting our ears to Mann's nonsense hahaha.

I do think this album is a shitpost. I just saw them live. They don't have a touring vocalist. Just played this album and a handful of older songs instrumental. Sector 80 was the encode. Straight trolling

It has to be. It’s just a collection of jams stitched together. Some of the music in it could’ve been interesting maybe, but it completely fails to produce a remotely cohesive song, let alone a cohesive album

I had an awful time yesterday, heard this album for the first time. Then I heard about the passing of the queen and I was cheered up somewhat.

Woke up today and remembered about this album again and now I'm depressed all over.
