The two new tracks are both killer. Glad they are back on a track of consistency.

Sad we never got a RDF album tour but I’ll take a new album too

I guess they did the pre-album tour with the singles, would've loved to have heard more of the album live though (especially Metroland and Kevin's Car). Hopefully they play some of the favourites on the new tour.
Did you get tickets choccy?

Idk what I think of these guys. I remember back in the day hearing Get To Heaven and I thought it sucked, and then out of nowhere this gem comes along. This album is fucking great but relistening to GtH and Reanimator makes it abundantly clear that they’re very inconsistent.

If you really like this there's a good chance you'll like Cold Reactor (lead single from the new album). GTH is their only album as catchy as this I think, you might like Arc?

Not sure how you can love this and not also love Get To Heaven. Anyway I'm so excited for the next album after the singles

new album slaps like crazy. i love how it almost sounds live-recorded. even the singles i did not care for at first grew on me significantly
also, the linguistic border between "fucks" and "sucks" is way too thin for me to feel comfortable in using "this album fucks" as a compliment

they need to now shorten their albums and get tighter on quality control...they seem to be losing the art of self editing or getting so conceptual they think a song's meaning 'as part of the story' justifies it's inclusion...when the tune is either subpar or a retread.
seems as patchy as the last one (50% of that album was fire, the rest chaff)...this one seems similar only the highs don't seem quite as high (probably blame the choruses - there were a tonne of good choruses on the last one, this time you have "can---Aaararay" etc or the same phrase just parroted over a not catchy melody).
they've overused nearly all the lead singer's vocal melody ideas too now.
for me it'll prob be their weakest since 'Arc', or at least the one I'll engage with least due to fatigue of overfamiliar sounds and ideas.

I feel this one will have either seven or eight keepers out of 14 which honestly isn't bad but I'd rather tighten up and they have 10 winners and wrap it up in 40 minutes.
They've released an awful lot of material now.
Yeah second listen I'd say the following stuck out:
1. Wild Guess
2. Cold Reactor
3. R U Happy?
4. The Mad Stone
5. Don't Ask Me to Beg
6. Your Money, My Summer
7. City Song
8. The Witness
Every other song has something not quite right (the chorus of Canary, the 'customer is always right' refrain in 'Dagger's Edge', etc)

I don't disagree with you doof in that the sheer amount here (and in general) kinda casts some diminishing returns and there is nothing radically different, but I also don't think there are any really obvious skips. I am really digging it so far. Need some more time to sit with it. Might be their best in a while, but it's at least on par with Raw Data Feel

For the record the last album would have functioned better as just:
1. Teletype
2. Bad Friday
3. Pizza Boy
4. Jennifer
5. Leviathan
6. My Computer
7. Kevin's Car
8. Software Greatman
If they released album's this tight I'd believe they were approaching Radiohead greatness but the bloat on each album proves they're very much fallible - 'Get to Heaven' is the only one I'd maybe argue wouldn't improve from editing it down.
