What exactly did the band/members do or say that got everyone in an uproar? I have seen conflicting account and I want to get my bearings straight on this before I spend anymore time delving into the discography. I have a hard time separating really fucked up ideals from the music whenever I hear these things

The vocalist on all their modern releases, Mikko Aspa, is a huge fascist. Absolute worst of the worst. That’s aside from his extremely dodgy side projects.

Those fucked up ideals aren't entwined with the music/lyrics etc. The vocalist is a session vocalist basically who comes in and just does the vocals IF you believe that. That's their stance. He's a national socialist piece of shit with a dodgy peado themed noise project and some other Peado themed shit (not making him a Peado but a dodgy fker) an unashamed facist who's played in fash bands and he's run a few fash labels. So you can not listen on that account, not listen because they allowed him to be the vocalist for so long or take their word he just does the vocals and separate that and listen to a catalogue of some of the greatest black/extreme metal albums of all time, the highest level.



For the record I'm the latter but feel dirty about it and would probably be giving other people shit if it was music I didn't like. A massive hypocrite basically

gave this another spin and actually think im more on the 'this is weak' side after all. the differences were novel first time round but its pretty mid-tempo and bland. drumming is really boring on this

Haters simply cannot comprehend that DSO are one of the most important black metal bands the genre ever had to offer.

Yes, Aspa is alt-right and probably an asshole. Saying he is a pedophile is simply hate speech without any reliable proof.

The band that is responsible for the music and the amazing lyrics are neither left wing nor alt-right.

But we are living in days of insane political correctness and black metal was always about shit the "normal" people despise. (Burning churches, Satanism, Suicide, Misanthropy).

Funny thing is almost all reviews on most metal sites are praising this album and do not even mention the connection of Aspa to the alt-right.

Also In listening to these tracks that dont have Mikko on Ive released how much his Vox are engrained into DSO sound. I always thought he was easily replaceable but im not so sure now, Maybe just Familiarity but those kinda broken pronunciations, and his tone, for me now seem more entwined that I realised.

Oh undoubtedly dude, the way he does harsh vocals still keeps the spoken voice intact imo so it makes all those accents and tones come through more. Honestly Mikko for all is...oddity is a p great bm vocalist.
