After spending a good amount of time with this, I can’t say it’s better than the three previous albums. It’s on par but the three previous are honestly just as good, and actually probably a little more balanced than this. They went full out assault here with some cool soundbites but the previous ones have a wider spectrum of emotions imo

Always felt like they just played into the COR dynamic too much with previous was too obvious a COR Black metal band. Not that thats in anyway a bad thing This is more their own thing. Shackles off and theyve come into their own more

Yeah, weird choice. I understand liking this but it really is built almost entirely upon 'here's a half-decent earworm of a riff' and not a whole lot else. Vox are vicious I suppose. It has a few cool moments but feels fairly unremarkable on the whole. This had such little sticking power that it didn't warrant returning to, and if I did, the rating would likely drop.
