So good. The Melodies on this album are so emotionally charged

Yeah this is really growing on me. Am Rande der Dunkelheit didn't really stand out on initial listen but the final third of the song is just dripping with emotion and atmosphere, it's fucking great.

Gegen das licht still hasn't fully clicked yet but hopefully soon. Probably cos I feel there's no way it can top the peak of the t/t on the last album

I found this connected with me instantly, their sense of melody really has a way of pulling on those emotions immediately. Also so many bands are advertised as ATMOSPHERIC without substance, like it’s just a generic descriptor of the genre they reside in and thus widely expected… these guys might be the genuine article where that’s concerned too.

If you like this more than Finisterre, check Unstille

This is the first release I’ve heard by these guys. I will be checking all their stuff in the new year. Pretty excited about it tbh!

This is my favorite bm of the year. I liked the last one a lot, but this is just unreal.

It’s something else, truly

I even like the cleans in Immortal, which is apparently a weird opinion

Nah, it's the Chad opinion

I don't like to call these melodies "emotional" tbh, that's way to subjective imo, but they're just so beautiful

Those things are often intrinsically linked for me, or maybe it’d be more accurate to say such feelings migrate across usually starting with the latter and ending in the former. Not necessarily as a certain prerequisite I guess, but it probably is quite rare to discover emotionless beauty, idk.

Haven is soty for me. It’s so beautiful, like watching the world slowly destroyed yet you are so at peace with it. Thank you for reviewing this album as I would have never known of this band, and I’ve been listening nonstop. This album and the one previous are both exceptional, different personalities. What a great band.

It's probably my AOTY but then again, I've only listened to like 30 albums this year

Definitely the album cover of the year.
By the way, this album is definitely not for me because it drains all my energy. Of course, that doesn't change the fact that it's a good album.

That groove in Immortal is fucking awesome. Super groovy and syncopated for black metal or post-black. Not sure if that style of clean singing is what I want for the track though.
