i'm kinda torn on this record, like i really enjoy it but (besides wildblood) it doesn't have the same impact/sheer quality of d&d. it also feels more like a summery album so i might require some sun to appreciate it more lol

Well said Jesper. The sun shined today for the first time in like 2 fuckin weeks here and I've been in a good mood all day because of it

Nail on the head. This has to be listened to with the sun shining

Bumped down a peg cause the hype got to me but this is still a fantastic record.

It's funny because they most likely wrote and recorded this in Summer 2019, but then it comes out in January and doesn't match the mood of winter!

The only thing wrong with it is that it's only 8 songs. "Nostalgist" is one of the best songs I have heard in a long time.

David listen to Keep You by PBTT asap.

The track featuring Kyle sounds like the last 2 PBBT records and I absolutely love it.
Definitely getting tickets to see both bands on tour now.

Seeing PBBT with Foxing live was one of the best gig of my life, but I'm a fanboy.
Caspian was HUGE in dunkfest 2018.
Album is still a bit boring.

For me this is much more engaging than D&D. First 2 tracks and the closer are definitely the highlights, with Flowers being just 10/10

I like some individual tracks of D&D more than anything here but I think this one is easier to jam, more cohesive, idk, maybe because of the short run time. I also feel this one is really well balanced.

Well balanced is probably a good way to put it. It’s got super duper softness and it’s got bona fide crushers. It SHOULDNT be cohesive with that kind of energy but somehow it is even though it’s short. How dafuq they do that?

idk. after a binge of their discography i've come to the conclusion this is 100% their weakest. i do like the record, it's very accessible and there's some good tracks on it but even the good tracks are quite predictable. i think the only track here that's even remotely melodically refreshing is ishmael. otherwise it feels like business as usual but not as fleshed out as the other records to give it that cinematic feel that the other records built over a big runtime.

Honestly I think this is their most balanced. D&D and Waking Season's highs absolutely rip this though.

Yea this is solid but on first listen nothing as spectacular as the best from the previous two.

For the most part, this one feels a collection of incomplete ideas. The songs end way too abruptly and feel underdeveloped.

Saw them live in SF last night. Fucking loud, and the band had so much energy the whole time. Wildblood SLAPS live.
