They’re really fuckin cool live. The music sounds better, it’s heavier, there’s a ton of energy, and of course the choreography is kind of cool.

I saw them live in Utrecht once when I was still living in Holland. They put on one hell of a show. Lots of energy, great choreography and a lot of interaction with the crowd.

Yeah. The whole package is not what I'd expect from a band with "metal" in their name. For me, the fun is in the overall sound, lyrics, live performances etc.

For example: Alestorm is performing a metal ballad about drinking beers while Christopher Bowes is dressed as a human sized bacon - that is fun, haha!

Same here and I think Babymetal has all those things. So, at that point it all comes down to taste. I love female vocals. I love electronic music and industrial-style stuff, and I like quirky originality.

Well, Dethklok and Alestorm garnered fame off of a gimmick instead of their actual music so it's an apt comparison.
