while i think the consensus is that, quality-wise, this eclipses the new tool, we cannot shy away from the astounding commercial success of the new tool record
hats off to you, tool!

I mean both this and Fear Inoculum are lazy recycled ideas from 20 years ago with just a touch of novelty thrown in for dignity, but at least The Nothing has the decency to not be uselessy long-winded and just gives us some catchy tunes.

Realistically, the only potential candidate that could dethrone Tool from being the worst thing I've heard this year is Infant Annihilator. That thing is just pure lolz

It's not bad but compared to their original style,it just feels like a hard rock sound with Korn's name slapped on it. I feel like Godsmack or Breaking Benjamin could EASILY do this. I didn't even finish the album,I need to do that today. It's just so,meh. I know making an album takes a lot of hard work so I'm trying not to trash it but Albums like this from bands like Korn make it hard. (But not really hard,if you get what I'm saying lol)

I mean, I guess if you're totally ignoring the fact that new Slipknot shits all over new Korn and T-Swizzle, and that the new Tool record isn't that bad, then yeah sure whatever.

"The Nothing sits on the wrong side of creativity and nostalgia" and is thus the perfect follow-up to The Serenity of Suffering.

I finally made it through a few listens (I had to delete the intro song. It's just terrible), and it's pretty good. Definitely not to the level of their last one, but also better than everything else since Untouchables.
