Okay so I decided to give this a fair shot. Even relistened to everything post-Creatures to have a good comparison fresh in my mind. And, while this certainly has a few awful songs, it's easily their most listenable since Creatures. Gonna spin it once more before rsting but I'm sitting at a 3 rn
Headache has major Korn vibes in the best way. Banging tune

Headache reminds me 100% of Korn's The Serenity of Suffering, which is a plus for me

Hm, really just reminds me of a discount edition of Hybrid Theory with a lackluster hook, even for Motionless standards.

I hate their output, bar Creatures, and still dig it. Oh well. At least we feel similarly of the album as a whole, my guy

yeah, honestly Creatures is a tad overrated imo. It's really standard gothic-esque metalcore, not a lot stands out to me. I'd say Reincarnate is probably their opus.
But yeah, I wouldnt call any select song AWFUL but some of them just aren't that good yea

I do agree with your comment on the other page, regarding the reception, especially in comparison to RYM. Very bizarre

Hot damn you liked their last few albums more than this?
I have a bit of an unfair bias when it comes to most of their material though; I dont enjoy industrial music. So their more industrial-tinged material mostly just drives me right up a wall. That and, more importantly, this is their first album since Creatures where Chris' performance isn't irritating to listen to for majority of the record imo

"Headache reminds me 100% of Korn's The Serenity of Suffering, which is a plus for me" same, plus the hook is catchy
I agree with the "The great" except for Catharsis, it's weak af and Brand New Numb is mediocre I don't dislike it as much as some other stuff here, it gives me some weird MM vibes

"this is their first album since Creatures where Chris' performance isn't irritating to listen to for majority of the record imo"
always thought Reincarnate was a shitload more natural feeling tbh, specifically with the clean singing. a lot more processing here.

I actually hate you for that

I made a playlist of my highlights off this so that I never need to endure the garbage on here again and I've been jamming it hard the past couple days
I call it the 3.5 edition

If it wasn't for Thoughts and Prayers and Undead Ahead 2 being absolute bangers, this album would easily be a 2. I think those two songs are the best songs MIW have ever made, and because of that, I have to give this album at least a 3.

Undead 2 is the only decent song because they actually channeled what made Creatures good.

I'm not sure I've ever heard such an obvious collection of unapologetic ripoffs.
Errr... Influences?
Anyway, they may as well have saved some time and sampled bands like Korn, Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park, Tool and Slipknot directly. A couple of songs are at least a little catchy.
