Album seems very divisive, the organic vs. sterile DM production argument aside (which is pointless btw). Going to take me a few listens before I can decide.

At some times it just seems like there's so many instruments and vocal layers going on that they clash a bit, I know nearly nothing about music production but it's almost as if there's not enough room in the mix. Especially with the filter over the vocals I feel.

The Faceless doesn't suck. Michael Keene sucks. Heroin Sucks. Planetary Duality rips.

I'm gonna have to go pretty "eh" on this. I like some of it, I feel like the score could go up. But after two listens I'm struggling to find any reason to go back. Just makes me want to go listen to Artificial Brain and Coma Cluster Void.

Planetary duality is nothing more than an unintelligible wankfest. And this is coming from someone who loves btbam

'To claim this has no dynamics is incredible...subtlety is obviously more arguable (because of the abrubt transitions) but even there I disagree.'

I was only referencing the production, not the composition. Itwasthatwas laying down the hard truths as one would expect from someone with an Everything is Fire av. This lacks anything approaching an engrossing atmosphere, which makes it so hard to appreciate.

Gotcha...I'm drinking all those marvelous recs oh wise ones...been on Immolation and Ulcerate several times but not on those releases, they re awesome bands fs (except for "average dm" Fallujah, cause the name reminds me of child song we have here in Portugal where the kids make a chain train).

Can't argue with "which makes it so hard to appreciate." but I do appreciate it though...a lot lol m/

I will kill you when you least expect Demon.

“Planetary duality is nothing more than an unintelligible wankfest. And this is coming from someone who loves btbam”

On what planet (LOL!!! xD) is that record unintelligible? That album is about as straightforward as tech death gets. Whether or not it’s a good album is another question but it’s definitely accessible. It’s wanky as hell for sure but structurally and melodically, it’s not very difficult to follow at all.

Planetary Duality is meh.

Ill probably try listening to this album sometime but listening to the track Voice it felt like Fallujah and Deafheaven fucked and had a baby that turned into a pretentious kid that thought the art teacher kicked him out because they were too stupid to understand his "genius" when all he did was try to cut his wrists with a butterknife in class.

Also the music video made me laugh with those shadowy figures dancing in the snow. Like how is this shit supposed to be scary and intimidating?

Planetary Duality is sweet until the robot voices come in

@DDD you should check out Fallujah's album The Harvest Wombs. It's very different from the last two albums. It has a very aggressive edge, vocals are great and there are RIFFS

Firedust, you're wrong and should feel bad. If Planetary Duality is unintelligible to you then you might just be unintelligent tbh, huehuehuehue.

Also, I actually really like the robot voice. I fucking hate bands with vocalists who have the range of a millimeter. Hell yeah, man, give me some effects on that shit, mix it up a little bittttt.

Also, calling it now, this will end up as a 3.7 average when the year becomes equivalent to your hindsight.

damn Wretched...now I'll have to dig 2 Fallujah albums that I know already is average stuff...I keep things true to myself and with full respect on the artists to let that interfere with me fun(wise).

Take solace in the fact that the two Fallujah albums are pretty different so at least it won't be THAT boring. haha
