Enisum rules but have their feet way more into the ambient/post-rocky fields of BM imo, as Saor is def imore n the folk/symphonic area so it's a hard comparison to make.

"it's a hard comparison to make"

The comparison was clearly based on elevated landscapes. But I suppose you missed that huge detail.

mountains are all the rage in black metal these days. I thought I was bucking the trend with Five Treasures but now everyone's getting spooky at elevation.

This band is top tier modern bm. Not many are doing it better at the moment.

I thought we topped in the 90s with 'the frozen mountain lake under a full moon', but then it turned out there's lots of different hills and mountains in the world, all with their own sound.

I gave this album some time to mull over but the variety in instrumentation because of the Celtic themes really gives an amazing sense of immersion and atmosphere. The playing is clean but not sterile, there is brilliant phrasing to be found across the whole album. Honestly this album's strongest point for me was its ability to keep me constantly engaged through the whole runtime.

Deathspell was like 28 minutes and people didn't bitch half as much about that being too short

Yes, this is a personal opinion. I want a sprawling Saor double album.

Also nobody bitched about people complaining the Deathspell was too short. GOTCHA
