Yeah the new one is chock full of terrible comedy, can't recall more than one or two jump scares at least

"The Shape Hunts Allyson", one of the sickest tracks in this soundtrack.

Everything was amazing except for the absolute worst subplots of all time

"once the mum started crawling on walls and shit it completely lost me"

Do you not realize what's happening in the end scenes? The whole time they were trying to summon Paimon, and when his return is at hand, everything becomes a total fucking nightmare. Idk why the ridiculousness of the ending bothers people... They're summoning a king of hell ffs

The ending of Hereditary is fucking amazing. It’s so strange to me that multiple people say they hate the ending, I think it’s terrifying.

Same. The kid played his role perfectly. The way he cries and says sorry to his mom, when he knows the end is near, trying for a plea. The mom looks silly doing what she does, but Paimon invites madness. It's obviously supposed to be ridiculous.

I was probably 13 or 14 and rented it from the independent movie store and thought the whole movie was kinda corny. Then the plot twist at the end was so good I literally sat there with my mouth open for who knows how long. That was my first movie mindfuck.

Hereditary was legit the best movie I've seen all year, if not longer

yeah dude I understood it fine, especially with that helpful exposition dump where she just opens up a box of family photos which lays out the entire plot of the movie. doesn't change said ending from being goofy as shit and entirely undermining the film's build-up

like it starts as prestige horror and ends as discount Exorcist lmfao my stance here is kinda self explanatory

All I’m interested in is if this new movie is good? Zombie’s take on the series was awful imo and the trailers for this one didn’t rouse my interest either.

Also, shoutout for Season of the Witch, underrated as hell movie. So much fun.
