This is my favourite this year by a mile. He finally nailed the more modern, less punkish route he's been taking the past handful of albums.

Man, I really appreciate the authenticity of the acoustic bluegrass disc.

Such an emotional series of songs, but the emotion is naturally dulled through years of tiredness and dissatisfaction with life and the state of the world. A truly genuine work, if not a little cheesy at certain times. Retains its charm well.

as much as I loved Autumn Eternal when it dropped, it was a bit underwhelming to return to after this beast

I feel like Part 1 is a 4 and Part 2 is a 3.5.

Just saw Panopticon live at Northwest Terror Fest in Seattle. Absolutely incredible, closed out with "The Moss Beneath the Snow," my favorite track on this. Got to meet Austin afterwards and talked to him for a few minutes, and he seemed like a really cool, down to earth guy. Falls of Rauros killed it as well, they sound exactly like their recordings.

trying to jam this again and my problem with the bm side is that I can't really differentiate the content here from anything on Roads or Autumn. It's all just becoming one big wash of samey Lunn bm. Are there nuances to this album besides it sounding a little more raw?

'Yeah, but melon sucks anyway so.'

I hate how he always spends 10 minutes making a simple two sentence point but I suppose he gotta get that ad revenue

Finally I found some time to listen to this.

Imo, less could have been "more". Some parts were really good, while others really boring.

I keep putting this off because it looks daunting but I'm gonna have to give in before the year ends.

I just love the production of this guy so fucking much. The drums, guitars, everything always sounds SO good. Love the distant vocals as well
