Clean vocals grew on me a LOT, honestly, there's definitely better stuff released this year imo but this might just be my favorite of the year so far

I'm glad they grew on you, I remember you saying you didn't really like them at first. This is definitely top 5 for me this year, I'm not sure what's my overall favorite. It could be this in all honesty

this has nudged its way past Rolo Tomassi as my favorite 2018 release so far

I'm also starting to think this miiiight be better than Rolo

I'd take this over Rolo yea
|

I slightly get the feeling that Rolo is easier to respect than it is to love, if that makes sense

Nah I feel that, completely understand

It's so monumental in an almost distant way whereas this is bracingly down to earth and ya can really feel the blood coursing through its veins

^ Yeah I honestly think I like their second album more because of how raw and heavy it is.

I like them roughly the same, I'd put this a notch above the second album tho. Absolute bunch of lads tho, these guys rule

There's no doubt they are good. To me it feels like a less technical tDEP, more melodic hardcore. The vocals are pretty similar to Greg Pusciato. For me it falls a little short in the power and distortion on the guitar. It takes off a little of the required heaviness in the genre and becomes incoherent with the harsh/ violent vocals. I liked their 2 last releases, but both have the same issue (probably its intentional)

I really didn't have any problems with the production, I think it sounded great. And I do agree, this is more of a melodic hardcore / metalcore version of tDEP. I like the guitar tone, it just makes this sound more melodic and accessible
