I really don't have any good comparison to other bands for WITTR.

You can say Diadem was heavily influenced by Weakling but the Weakling comparison ends there as far as I'm concerned. The rest of their discog sounds nothing like Dead of Dreams to me.

If they're anything like Altar of Plagues then I'll dig this

You could also see heavy influences from early Ulver and Emperor. They didn't exactly reinvent the genre, but they do have a sound that is distinctly WITTR.

Alda are like a more folk bm alternative to WitTR's synthy atmosphere.

I'm also pretty annoyed at the lack of download code with the vinyl purchase. It's pretty routine these days to include one.

They're similar to the legions of bands that started copying them in the mid 2000's. Like Ash Borer, Fell Voices, etc.

Those bands sound nothing like WITTR. None of that Cascadian scene used synths like WITTR did, they were all more folky. Ash Borer actually used synths but it sounds nothing like WITTR musically.

And yes it is weird that the vinyl didn't come with a download code. I've ordered Diadem and Celestite directly from their store and both came with a code.

Lesson is... if you aren't dedicated and are a lazy fucker like me you are much less likely to be disappointed
