Idk, it's very nice but that's prob the song here that's most like Ghosts and I like every song on Ghosts better.

"Moorestown" is very very pretty for sure and does have one of the better vocal melodies here, plus those strings are very nice... I guess part of me just feels like Mark can (or should be able to) pump out stuff like that in his sleep... But yeah I may be underrating it at a 3.5.

'diet nick drake'

I'd say Mark has released hours and hours of far more impenetrable, complex and dense stuff than Nick ever did.

His lyrics have also headed to much darker and painfully personal places than ND's.

Not feeling that description either. Nick Drake is amazing though of course, but I'd definitely see Kozelek as more of an outsider and acquired taste.

I mean I only know a few Nick Drake songs (probably a major oversight on my part…) but surely the first few RHP albums at the very least are in a pretty different world than his stuff?

Yeah, I don't think there's all that much similarity...

But Boney, definitely check all three of Nick Drake's albums, essential and probably very much your thing.
