A lot less people would have made that HTTK = Metallica clone connection if it wasn't for This is War being a pretty blatant Sad But True knockoff, since that's always the song I see get mentioned.

This Means War and the opener are really Metallica but other than that it's a great album
The opener is great anyway, This Means War is hella lame though

syn shines on that album. Heretic and coming home have some amazing solos.

syn shines on everything he plays on, as he's probably the most talented person to be in the band's lineup that's not the rev
man i wish that guy was still around rip

Brooks is more than capable imo.
But ya RIP
wish I could've seen him live.

brooks rules but the rev's vocals and songwriting is what pushed him over the edge (as a big fan of the s/t at least)
ironic that they went prog after they got the drummer of one of the most influential punk bands out there, and bad religion has totally suffered from that lineup shift

I've done this before in some other thread but you can pretty clearly identify a ripoff for almost every song
Opener - Enter Sandman
T/t - Thunderstruck
Doing Time - Appetite era GnR
This means war - Sad But True
Requiem -
Crimson Day - literally any Hair Metal ballad
Heretic - Symphony of Destructiom
The song after that - Number of the beast
Planets -
Acid Rain - 90s dream theater ballads

Album Rating: 4.5
I mean I don't particularly like the album but Shepherd of Fire is a killer track
Better than enter sandman imo
And coming home has some pretty clear maiden influence but so did a ton of city of evil material
I never went to A7x for unique material, I like them because they're easy to listen to mainstream metal and don't (usually) suck.
