Yeah no shit. Have you ever heard lars' double bass part in "One"? It's out of this world!

This album is a step below Load.

Metallica is a shadow of its former self.

James Hetfield's high pitched spoken vocals that suddenly shift into yodeling while trying to sound heavy is laughable.

Lars is a lazy drummer. There is really nothing more to say. He is lazy in the studio and lazy live. Who cares if your getting paid though right?

Trujillo's talents are wasted in this band. That said, there are no memorable bass lines by him on the album. His backup vocals also suck live. He is no Jason Newsted.

Kirk Hammett cannot write memorable solos anymore. The two best solos on the album are from The Day That Never Comes and Suicide & Redemption. Funny enough those are two of the best tracks on the album. Kirk abuses wah pedal on every single solo because the creativity is gone. He also abuses wah-wah live because he can't play his own solos anymore without making mistakes.

The worst thing about this album is the actual production. Compare it to the Guitar Hero tracks and it's day and night. How could they screw up so bad? It's not even listenable.

Metallica has not released a good album in over 22 years. These last 4 releases had so much filler and were a drastic change from their thrash metal roots.

I quite like this album. The production is awful but some of the songs are great.
