The Galilean Satellites was inspired by Times of Grace apparently. I haven't heard TGS, but the effect of ToG and Grace played together is immense.

tgs is a very good album, one of the genre's finest.
between that and the next two, rosetta's a decent pick for a top 5 post-metal band maybe

idk, this doesn't click as much as most of their stuff. still above the word as law and honor but it's middle of the road neurosis. to me it sounds as a transition album from the holy trinity (souls, enemy and tsib) to the more accessible a sun that never sets and eye of every storm.
band can do no wrong though

n a h best Neurosis.

I bought this album in 2001 and it did absolutely nothing for me until about 2013. Now it's one of my favorite albums. Of any band. Not sure what it is about Neurosis, but they require just a bit of patience ... and seeing them live. Then things start to click.

It's been... what, 7 years since I started listening to Neurosis? I guess I still have time for this to grow. Honestly I often skipped this one when listening to their discography because initially I found it disappointing. Such travesty affected my listening experience since now I'm more familiar with the rest of the stuff over this. I've grown to appreciate this much more than I ever thought, though.
TSIB and Souls will forever be my favorite, with EOES as close second and third probably a tie between EOTS and GTTR. Rating this stuff is a pain in the ass.

seeing them live is a religious experience. can't imagine what was like seeing them live in the 90's with all the visual effects and stuff. what a trip

Yeah, it was a pretty good experience. Couldn't be bothered to do it twice, though.
