Haven't listened to Coma yet, but the big difference between something like TGM and Automata would be the metalcore parts, I guess. The dropped them in favor of more traditional prog metal influences

I would argue they had already done that with TGM considering every song on there was over 9 minutes minus Desert and Mirrors.

well yeah but I guess I meant that this is still a bit heavier than TGM and its as if they regretted their choice to mix more Alaska-esque elements into the music and then decided to head back to the more prog stuff going forward.
