I didn't care for the first album a whole lot for a long time. But it clicked for me. It fucking rules so hard.

I feel like most people are intimidated by this band because of their long ass name, long ass songs and that really is a shame. Because thats the same reason i feel like BTBAMs the Parallax has been plagued with too, fortunately for the few of us who took the plunge and checked this albums out, we are blessed with some of the greatest music ever made. This album is seriously killer, crusher heavy passages, beautiful violin solos as well as guitar solos, and the contrast between clean and growl vocals is just epic

it's still really cool how sometimes the guitars and violins will sound identical in tone

Hope they go back to the production style on Portal but keep the more concise song-writing from this

Really? Everything here is just cleaner and more expensive-sounding, although the mixes are pretty similar. I thought it was obvious.

Ideally I'd like their next album to sound like Aurora Veil but I know it won't happen, rip

Well, I finally gave these guys a shot after listening to 1 song in 2012 when their debut was popular here.

Saw the band name and assumed they were yet another 5-piece of skinny Scandinavians with really shitty goatees and a knack for shoehorning in cruddy faux-orchestra synths.

And while I'm not a fan of the long violin-centered instrumental parts, these guys shred! Holy crap. Love songs from their debut, but this has more killer moments that exist within larger songs. Great stuff.

I like it when it's layered with the guitars and heavy drumming and screaming, it works well. Just not a fan personally of it taking center stage for a long time, it just comes across as cheesy to me. I know it's not inherently, but I perceive it as so.

I watched a live set they did and was blown away, and I have a ton of respect for their violinist/clean vocalist. Just a preference thing

This and the first record are about even for me.

Both are incredible, but I definitely agree that the production is too polished on this.
