My first listen to this was in my 30's and I still enjoy the hell out of it. Your interpretation of the lyrical themes will certainly be different at 24 than 14 but it is still effective. I Don't Love You is a beautiful rock song.

its pretty good clay. you might dig it, seeing you are a fan of american idiot, and theyre similar-ish

This definitely does the dramatic rock opera thing better.

This and Absolution wipe the floor with American Idiot, honestly.

nah this is poor man's American Idiot
well, maybe not poor so much as comfortably middle-class

nothing wrong with a little bias, mine leans pretty hard towards Blue October and you had quite the elegance in explaining why you like Green Day so much. I just find this and Absolution a far lot more memorable than American Idiot.
My enjoyment for American Idiot ends at the songs I can remember like Jesus of Suburbia, American Idiot, Whatshername, Homecoming, Wake Me Up, and Boulevard of Broken Dreams.

I'd say the only relation this album has to American Idiot is they're both so unashamedly over the top concept albums that its disgusting, thematically and topically theyre polar opposites however.

Never seen Muse lumped in MCR and Green Day before, but I can see the thematic similarities between the three albums (all three are gloriously OTT).

Absolution is pretty meh too though let's not get ahead of ourselves

ever since the turn of the decade it's pretty common to group muse in with any mainstream alternative rock band

Very contrasting styles though.

Album Rating: 3.5
i dont like letterbomb
and I group this album with american idiot and absolution as the 2000s big three "rock opera over the top AHHHHHHHHHHHHH" records.

This album basically ended pop punk tbh... No good pop punk (or mainstream rock opera) released since this
