after a few more listens this is absolutely one of their best albums (not that that's saying much though, they're like 5/11 now).
this album absolutely flies by too, which i don't think can be said about even their good albums besides wasting light. feel like i blink and i'm on the teacher already

haha i think that's what really sets this one apart for me... unlike all their other stuff this one is kinda not a good time
like even the beginning of the album which is pretty standard foos except it has some of the saddest lyrics i've ever heard from dave. or maybe they've always been like that but with the added context they feel like they hit more this time around?

This is great! Probably not quite Wasting Light great but In Your Honour great at least. Really good album! It's Foo Fighters being the Foo 'King' Fighters!
Love The Teacher but wished they separated the part from 5:20 onwards into it's own track or something. I'm already getting intimidated about it popping up on shuffle lol. It kinda drags a little.

RYM really loves this thing. It's their highest rated album by a landslide

"RYM really loves this thing. It's their highest rated album by a landslide"
rym does this with like every half decent album that gets released these days, they've gone soft

damn this production sucks

This was nice. Don't know if it really merits a second listen, but maybe one day

Always have a soft spot for the Foos, even if they are very inconsistent
Will have to give a go soon

back end of this easily the strongest on any foo album ever. suvch a powerful closing duo.

First Coldplay now Foo Fighters, which rock band is gonna make unexpected prog epic next?

"damn this production sucks"
Lol it's the same production Foo Fighters have had nearly their entire career. Mostly pristine for the bops and maybe a smidgen of nuance for some of the deep cuts.

nope this is their worst sounding album since one by one, the production is Californiacation levels of bad
the hi hats sound like fizzying white noise, havent heard anything this brickwalled in a while. A shame cos the album rocks

yeah production here is radically different from the last half dozen albums
think it really compliments the more hazy sounding stuff in the back half of the album, but not the bread and butter foo stuff in the beginning

Hard agree there. The best showcase for the production was definitely the final part of The Teacher, but from Rescued to The Glass, it didn't work nearly as well
