Okay ghosts again and favourite stranger got some sauce

yeah track 5 onward is still where this really shines for me
a little disappointed to hear about the apparent lack of new stuff they've been playing on the new tour - especially considering 3 of the 4 from the setlist I saw was just 1-3 of the record. obviously they're gonna play Ghosts Again but Wagging Tongue over all the rest? & Cosmos is cool but seems better suited to just opening this album than being The Show Opener every time, even though obv they've kinda been doing it in this format for a while I guess

other album choices are pretty hot though, Sister of Night is always a very welcome inclusion
|
| |
oh they're apparently playing "Speak to Me" from the new one as well, that's tite

Possibly my most listened to of the year so far.

Never Let Me Go starts with goth rock guitar but then later has that nice uplifting vocal bridge, cool stuff!

Will easily be sitting in my top 5 for 2023. Likely joined by PJ Harvey. Not sure what else is on the horizon for the rest of the year. Maybe Aphex Twin's EP will take another spot.
I just listened to the new Wagging Tongue remix EP which mostly, and unsurprisingly, just has the usual techno or ambient retreads - all mostly mundane. But the first track is like a complete reamagining of the track with a female guest vocalist. It has some key differences in the instrumentation and is actually a very good version of the song. Worth a spoin at least.

I really only heard it in full 3 or 4 times and also I drunk/old/tired. Either or but it was better than Wild Mood Swings by the Cure. It wasn't all Doom and gloom as it seemed it could be, but their chances worked better. WMS has schizo the album which it has great songs. I am going to stop typing but I feel like WMS did fit I guess the idea of the name it was not too good.
